Movement Music Project brings together local justice singers, musicians, choral leaders, allies and activists to amplify movements. We coordinate efforts across the DC/MD/VA to bring music to the frontlines of the fight for democracy and liberation.
From well-known folk singers like Pete Seegar to local heroes like Luci Murphy, music has kept the stories of movements for liberation alive and spirits high at some of the lowest times in our history. The current state of our country demands that we continue to speak up, and - as Joshua Campbell so aptly put it in his ode to Civil Rights leader and Congressman, John Lewis - we must "sing out and march on."
